Getting from West End to Red Hook by water taxi

Book your water taxi from West End, BVI to Red Hook, USVI. West End and Soper’s Hole on Tortola’s western tip are a short hop from St Thomas, and a private water taxi lets your group make that crossing at the time you choose, skipping the ferry lines and heading straight back to Red Hook.

What to expect on the crossing

Your water taxi is a private boat for your group, so you set the departure time. Ferries run to a timetable, can be cancelled or delayed, and older and newer ferries can differ by 45 minutes or more on the same run. With a water taxi you board at West End, complete BVI departure formalities and cross back to Red Hook. We work with a number of providers and match you based on your route and number of passengers.

Leaving the BVI and arriving in the USVI

Fast immigration clearance on both sides. West End (Soper’s Hole) is a BVI port of entry, so you complete BVI departure there; the BVI online Immigration and Customs form (ED card) is required when leaving as well as arriving. In the USVI everyone reports to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), so carry a valid passport or other CBP-accepted travel document. Government entry and departure fees are not included. See our BVI immigration & customs guide.

Pickup points and timing
